Online Montessori
Leadership Council
Pilot Program
We are looking for IMC members (school or individual)
who would be interested in pilot testing a new IMC Project:
The first 'secure' online Montessori Leadership Council (our
professional growth and support communities) mentored by The
Montessori Foundation.
We will be using the online hack proof intranet
provided by our partnership with the 6-Friends organization.
For the project, no more than twelve schools
in twelve different communities will be formed into a Leadership
Council. Members will begin by introducing themselves and
by beginning to upload into their virtual community gallery
information and photographs of their schools' facilities and
programs.
Using a private online forum, members can log
in at their own convenience and exchange thoughts and ideas
about any topics that interest them as school administrators.
The Council's mentor will also occasionally ask questions
and suggest things to work on together.
Gradually, as members come to know and trust
one another, they will begin to share more complex and sensitive
information
Tim Seldin, President of the Montessori Foundation,
will personally mentor the first council.
Our plan is to learn from this pilot project,
and then establish additional learning communities for councils
of up to twelve Montessori guides at each of the age levels,
and councils for Montessori parents who want to learn more
about using Montessori at home.
This program will be a free benefit of membership
in the International Montessori Council.
