This is an interesting approach to teaching children about open-mindedness, acceptance, and understanding. The author chose to create an imaginary world that had four different countries. Each country had a different shape and everything in the country was that shape—people, plants, animals, buildings, vehicles, etc. Each country was isolated so they knew nothing different. One day the people from these countries set out to explore the world. When they reached another country with a different shape they experienced a range of emotions and thoughts from fear to suspicion to disbelief.
