A musical play in ten scenes, “You Can Be What You Want to Be” is based on the Life of Maria Montessori. It was first performed at the Mercy Montessori Center in Cincinnati by the 9-12 Class who created the play together with Mary Aloyse, RSM. Under her direction, they planned the scenes, wrote the songs, and acted out the story as it might have been.

Written for a cast that varies in age, it also can be a spoken “classroom” play.

Performance time is approximately 50 minutes. Content of the 55 page booklet includes all needed for student participation and stage production:

The number of actors with speaking parts may be augmented
in some scenes with supportive groups on stage and/or chorus
participants.
