Reflective Montessori Leadership: Leader and Teacher Development
It is concluded that self-reflection is critical to a Montessori leader’s success, one that empowers them to model and influence reflective practices, with direct impacts on teacher reflection and classroom improvement. This conclusion becomes relevant as we observe our Montessori leaders assuming numerous and complicated administrative roles from management to instructional supervision, mentoring, and coaching teachers. (Damore Rieckhoff, 2020, Journal for Montessori Research) The purpose of this webinar is to increase awareness of the need for competencies and dispositions for school administrators, teacher leaders and teacher educators, utilizing frameworks of Reflective Leadership. Participants will apply research and theory to contextual, school-based applications for self-improvement and well as teacher growth.
